Well, that was a whole lot of explosive. In any case, the second season of Loki has drastically altered the course the MCU will take in its pursuit of the end of the Multiverse Saga. A climactic finale has been witnessed as Loki battles his way to repair the broken Time Loom, finally emerging as “He Who Remains” over a new multiverse. Even as the season wraps up its core narratives, so much of what has been shown still remains intriguingly ambiguous. Here are ten mysteries that viewers might hope to see resolved in a potential third season or in future MCU installments.

 10. What Exactly Was the Time War?

While both seasons will focus a lot on the mysterious Time War that caused the creation of the TVA, its actual conflict remains unseen within the MCU so far. With the multiverse open and at large with the Council of Kangs preparing to invade and conquer these new timelines another Time War seems impossible to avoid. Movies in the future like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars can finally depict the full-on multi-verse-spreading war.

What’s Next for TVA?

The TVA evolved from an oppressive regime, to a preservers’ regime, headed by a new leader in the forms of Hunter B-15, to his allies. Now though, Loki has still never really delved into how they operate their business in running around all these timelines, getting and dealing with Kang’s soldiers, and incursion controlling techniques.

 8. How Did Ravonna Renslayer End?

Ravonna Renslayer is a formidable villain, at least in this iteration as portrayed by Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Though she does come back at the end, she is somewhat inconsequential because it can’t be determined if it is her final end. Ravonna Renslayer re-appears briefly and wakes up in what appears to be the Void, drenched in this mystical purple light. Considering her importance to Kang in the comics, we can safely assume that Ravonna will see him again, perhaps even be with him in the Void when time ends.

 7. Is Miss Minutes Really Reformed?

This season, Miss Minutes took the dark turn. She got recreated by TVA scientist Ouroboros into hopes of a better future, but he couldn’t promise to keep her trustworthy. Therefore, if she comes back, the sinister side fans saw this season might well pop up again. The TVA should be ready for that and shut her down quickly if things go wrong.

 6. What’s the Role of Mobius in Deadpool 3?

With the future of the TVA up in the air, Owen Wilson’s Mobius is confirmed to be in Deadpool 3 that will hit theaters in July 2024. It is his departure in Season 2 of Loki where he seeks to find his life again after the TVA. His search for purpose might drive him to the X-Men universe and potentially bring him closer to Deadpool and Wolverine.

What Will Happen to Victor Timely?

Introduced this season, Victor Timely is a Kang variant and a scientist from the 1920s, frustrated by the technology of his time. The season concludes without the fate of Timely being revealed; it is left to be seen what will happen to him in the future. A flashback to his childhood implies that he no longer receives the TVA handbook, which may change the course of his life to one that is more peaceful but less groundbreaking.

 4. Did Loki Really Win He Who Remains?

In the finale, Loki finds out that He Who Remains created the TVA and Time Loom to preserve the Sacred Timeline. Trapped in a cycle that always brought Kang’s return, Loki changes things by remaking the multiverse. Although He Who Remains’ plan seems undone, his cunning leaves fans wondering if he’s really defeated or has laid another trap.

3. Is Loki’s New Multiverse Actually Better?

Loki defined space and time by creating a world tree to preserve the multiverse. He says that his version is superior to the Sacred Timeline, though that is yet to be known. The many realities are there, calling forth more and more Kang variants to fill up He Who Remains’s void, with incursions now more probable. Hence, the Multiverse Saga might just show that the strategy of He Who Remains was correct after all.

2. Is This the Last Arc for Loki?

With Loki emerging as a major player in the MCU, ruling over the entire multiverse, it might be the last arc for him. He may appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, but this could be the fitting end for the character that fans love. Tom Hiddleston’s time as Loki might be coming to an end, but fans can hope for one more majestic appearance.

1. Will There Be a Season 3 of Loki?

Season 2 ends on a conclusive note instead of with a cliffhanger, unlike the first season. Though there is an air of stories remaining, Marvel Studios has not confirmed a third season. Considering that Loki is Disney+’s most popular series in MCU, it might remain as Marvel is shifting toward continuing the shows rather than a limited series.
