 What’s Cooking at Colony House?

Tensions run high at Colony House when a crow crashes into a window and then flies in through it and crashes into the wall inside. The residents respond to this by attributing bad luck to Tillie for conducting tarot readings inside the house. The elderly woman, however, interprets it as a dark sign associated with Fatima’s pregnancy and forewarns Elgin of the coming of evil. Although Elgin seems entirely uninterested, things take a bizarre turn for him when he starts seeing a monster in a kimono who pleads with him to rescue her before she vanishes.

A night turns all the more menacing when, outside the house, an outbreak of gunfire is sounded. Officer Acosta foolishly attempts to shoot at the monsters; she ends up shooting Nicky, a resident. As if the nurse Mari desperately tries to save her, Nicky breathes her last. The Colony House stands shocked by such a tragic accident. Boyd, the sheriff, throws all the blame on Acosta for her actions, whereas Acosta is traumatized by such acts of horrors happening in Fromville.

At the same time, Fatima, who has been acting increasingly gruesome, seizes the opportunity of being left alone with Nicky’s corpse. She reaches out to touch the gunshot wound and then licks the blood off her fingers as if seeking to savor that act. Something grotesque is apparently materializing inside her; she does only just enough to ensure that all her very grisly fancies will soon be acted out.

What Does Victor Recall About His Childhood?

Victor lives his childhood with Sara. He mentions that he used to play with his elder sister in Fromville and hide inside a closet as monsters attacked the town. His sister stepped out as there was a scared Victor inside, and he remained there till the following morning. In the meantime, the town was torn to shreds. A Boy in White appeared before him, instructing Victor to collect lots of things from the dead bodies as souvenirs.

Victor may have the key to unlock the mystery of Fromville through his memories, as he remembers a ventriloquist named Christopher who owned a doll named Jasper. Although friendly in the beginning, Christopher changed, and Victor saw some horribly chilling talks between that fellow and his doll. Victor believes Jasper can unravel all the secrets in this town, but Jasper will not be easy to find. Ironically, Jasper bears quite an uncanny resemblance to the Smiley Creature, meaning that perhaps that creature is alive after all and one of the biggest baddies.

Is Randall Dead?

Randall is impulsive and temperamental. In this particular episode, he is put through a rather brutal ordeal staying in the main street bus because he has been thrown out of Colony House. He hallucinates cicadas that haunt him. These insects that he alone can see surround him, making it very easy for monsters to catch him

Boyd is made to face an awful decision: save Randall or return to get the ambulance keys so he can help the Matthews family. Boyd decides on saving Jim and Tabitha lives, whose children depend on them for survival. At the conclusion of the show, the creatures place Randall alive but severely injured to sit on the windshield of the ambulance parked outside Colony House, where Boyd and Donna face the aftereffects of Boyd’s decision. While Randall is not dead yet, it probably is going to be tortured to death in the next episode forcing Boyd to suffer through another tragic loss.
