All that speculation and uncertainty is over now, as the date for the Chainsaw Man movie has been confirmed to be in 2025. Rather than another season—at least, not at this time—Denji’s journey will carry on with the adaptation of a feature film focused on the Reze Arc, one that promises to bring with it intense and very highly action-packed content for every fan of the manga.

The following gathers all the information available about the cinematic adaptation of Denji as we near the release date in 2025, including possible release dates, chapters to be adapted, the latest teaser, and cast.

Speculative information about the Chainsaw Man release date

How long till the movie? Since the latest teaser has been unveiled, and it’s been two years since the first season ended, we should expect to see the film sometime during 2025. The probable time for it would be spring or fall, but fall looks more probable since the release window has only been confirmed for 2025 so far.

Chainsaw Man Movie Story: What Happens Next?

The story is, in the first year, based on Denji’s life. Denji suffers due to his father’s yakuza debts, then becomes a Devil Hunter, working in collaboration with his devil friend Pochita. His death at the hands of one of the Zombie Devils results from several creations that are created due to human fear, and after reviving and merging with Pochita, he becomes a very powerful Chainsaw Man. By pulling on the ripcord attached to his head, he gets a body built from a chainsaw.

Most of the opening season revolved around the training of Denji as a Public Safety Devil Hunter, whom he teamed up with Aki, Power, Himeno, and Kobeni in battling the strong devils, including Bat Devil, Ghost Devil, and Katana Man. Therefore, the first season is expected to cover the first 38 chapters of the manga. Thus, for those keen on reading further, it is believed that the next film is going to start from chapter 39.

The movie’s synopsis reads: “Denji became Chainsaw Man, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s Devil Hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a girl who works at a café.”

Without revealing any key details, it is noteworthy that Reze, a new character introduced at the conclusion of season one, plays a crucial role in the movie and develops a close relationship with Denji. The ominous presence of the Gun Devil will remain a substantial threat, and the newly established Division 4 team will face not only new allies but also adversaries.

Regarding the upcoming second season of Chainsaw Man, it’s quite surprising that the anime will skip directly into a canon movie from season one. However, there will be a new season to be expected later on that might also include the International Assassins Arc, wherein Denji would become a famous person due to these actions and various assassins will target him.
